Day 3.....Assessment

Ok.... this one may rub some people the wrong way, but this is one area in which that I have a strong background and can freely and objectively speak. This is probably the most asked question behind closed doors that does not make it to the forum.

Swinging at TTR !

Ok....as everyone will tell you, TTR is not a swingers resort but one where you can find swingers. We find this to be highly accurate, but even within swingers there are sub categories that I would like to address:

We are highly active swingers and, as most of you know, spend most of our time in Europe but have migrated our vacations to the Western hemisphere.

So what is the difference? This is what we see:
Most people we have met (no names - out of respect) vacation for fun and hope the ideal opportunity to swing presents itself. We and most people in European swingers resorts (and even resorts here, like desire ) Vacation to swing and hope that the ideal opportunities for additional fun, present themselves. So on a 10 day trip we hope to try 10 different couples, single, or groups. Now realistically......that never happens, but 8 out of 10 is very reasonable!!!!

So how does that translate to TTR ? Well, the people here are sensational! We love just about everyone we have met but some (certainly not all) are very nervous and new to the LS (again.....certainly not all). We are still able to find people and have done so with realative ease, but we have to almost pull the invitation out of them or invite them, ourselves. Many couples talk about swinging.....want to know more about the LS and are very apprehensive. We have had multiple couples where one member says that their spouse is just nervous and needs drinks and some help getting over their nerves. Typically, we find that this means that the other member isn't really ready and no one should be pushed into any situation that they are not ready to explore!!!!

So at TTR we are trying to be very selective swingers but it is very different than a true swingers resort. I understand that I can be a bit intimidating but those who come out and say what they want are getting VERY far with us, but we really aren't into convincing someone's wife that they should try it for the first time.

So...... if you see me and know what you want just say it..... we are swingers! It's what we do! Lol

This is a very accurate description of the lifestyle at TTR . I would add, and I think you touched on it, there is a segment that we could classify as vacation swingers. Being out of the country, not knowing anyone, presents opportunities.

We had a great experience last year on our trip and probably every few months at home. I dont think we could keep up but we LOVE how you own the lifestyle. Sorry to hear another woman tried to speak for all womankind and shame you but hey....those people will always be around. Congrats on living a life that is honest, full of love and being you! Keep these blogs coming, makes Sept for us feel even closer.

Day 3 Themed Night.

Tonight was Superhero night and we expected a raucous crowd of Wonder Woman and Superman costumes but were sorely disappointed to see only about 150 guests in attendance. I came as the party's only Lara Croft (see pic) to much fanfare......thank you, everyone!

Despite the smaller than usual numbers, the party was the best of our few nights here (thanks to the energetic dancing and showboating by a few of our new girlfriends). The early entertainment was an intense acrobatic routine that was masterfully performed and had the audience on their feet.IMG_20190611_021342.jpg

Damn you are making it hard to wait till Friday to meet you guys... If you are on the Boobs Cruise (a must in our opinion) we will see you when you return. If not see you around 3:30ish at the pool.

We have a few theme nights planned... White, Glow, Super Hero (nothing as hot as your Lara Croft) and Angels & Devils.

Thank you, both typeoxpress . You are far too kind. We are still on the fence about the Boobs Cruise after two long days of excursions, but my weakness seems to be that I can't say "no" to opportunities to show off my boobs. Lol Egotistical.....probably......but hey, that's being self aware; so I've got that going for me, at least. See you, both, on Friday! ;)

Love the Lara Croft Costume , We are usually there in February, and have found the last few times that there was a lack of participation in the theme nights (only a handful of people dressed up). Wish we were there now, would love to meet and party with you.

I highly recommend the boobs cruise, you won't regret it.

Day 4 CHICHEN ITZA

Today we had a second 7:20 am excursion which was a very unfortunate time!!!! We met a new couple who sent us a text at 3:15 am asking us to come join them but we had to postpone due to our early start......so if you are reading this....find me tonight!

We took another chartered bus from TTR to the Xcaret transit station and then set out on the 3 hour trip to one of the 7 Wonders of the New World, Chichen Itza! The trip was quiet with no efforts to upsale, whatsoever. Our first stop was at a small village about 1 hour into our drive. We were given 15 minutes for restroom breaks and shopping. Be forewarned: some of the shops will charge you to use their restrooms. Only one shop (the jewelry store) has a free restroom. It will be on the north side of the street.

Back on the bus we drove 2 more hours to our first activity, the Cenote. This is an amazing underground pool that does allow swimming and shallow cliff diving (feet first). The decor is amazing with well manicured trees and exotic wildlife. Here, you will eat a free buffet that is less than impressive but are required to buy your own beverage, even water.

Our next and final stop was the Mayan pyramids known as Chichen Itza. This is a must see but watch the weather forecast. We arrived to pouring rain but the guide ABSOLUTELY WILL NOT STOP THE PRESENTATION!!! That would mean refunds. So we were pushed out of the bus into the blinding rain. All of our clothes we soaked to the translucent state, which was a nice bonus. :). The tour lasts for 2 hours but please take this advice: Exit the park and stop at the restaurant in the parking lot. It has an interactive menu, amazing foods, cheap beer, and sports on the TVs. We spent the last hour of our trip in the restaurant and due to the pouring rain, it was the highlight of our trip.
Chichen Itza is a trip worth the money, and the rain. You need to see it once......then probably never again!

What a brilliant idea, and a great read. You put everything so articulately, honestly, but stay balanced. And your summary of "lifestyle" was perfect - exactly what I have found on my trips to TTR . As the "single guy", im reluctant to be too forward with people I've met since i don't want to be seen as "one of THOSE guys" and many couples are reluctant to put it "out there" that they are up for some naughtiness! If you don't grab the bull by the horns (!), these opportunities can be missed.

Im looking forward to further updates. Both the "daytime" and "nighttime" versions!

(Kudos on the Lara Croft by the way, smokin'!)

Day 5 - Laundry

This place is hot as hell, but even worse is the humidity! We packed 12 days worth of clothing but had gone through 10 sets by day 5!!!! It is a very common practice for couples to go and change clothes halfway through the themed party, not because it's a style but because you will pour sweat! Needless to say, we needed to find a way to do some laundry. TTR does offer a laundry service but it is very expensive and takes 2 days to have your clothes returned to you. For us, we had reached the point of no return and this option, simply would not do.

After doing a fair amount of research, we found a quaint little "fluff and fold" washeria called Lumi Express. Lumi is located 3 km from tempation and can be reached in 3 minutes via the R-1 or R-2 busses. The owner speaks no English but will point out all of the necessary info on a dual language cheat sheet.

This service was FANTASTIC!!!! All of our laundry was done in 2.5 hours and 10 days worth of clothing, for two people was was, dried, folded, and wrapped on plastic for a total of $7.

YES....$7

Lumi is only a few blocks from Senor Frogs, so Mike and I went there for lunch, while we waited. We had a quick bite, 4 tequila shots (complimentary for bringing in a group of men that said they would follow me anywhere.....strange). We were given the names of "Porn Star" for me and "Ass Destroyer" for Mike.........have we been here too long???? How do they know us so well? Lol

All in all we had a great afternoon and saved the following:

TTR laundry for 2 over 10 days -$84 and 2 day wait

Lumi laundry for 2 over ten days - $7 and 2.5 hour wait.

Check out Lumi Express if you're in need of laundry service.

Finally got enough nerve to approach Mr. and Ms. 1500cc and had a nice talk... They are very gracious and funny as hell. We got to meet in the sexy pool. After watching them circulate for a few hours...and lots of beer for me, I just fell in love with them. They are always on the go and seem to have a smile and a friendly attitude that will invite anyone to come talk to them. If U see them, U must approach the time and space as a lucky reward for U to meet two very special and sexy people. (Let me express the Sexy as 'WOW' )
U will not be disappointed.
Thanks guy for being so sweet to me...

Day #3 XPLOR

Today we had booked an excursion, on the advice of some local friends, to the "Theme Park" Xplor. This is one of the Xcaret owned parks about 1 hour outside of Cancun. The chartered bus, complete with reclining seats and cold A/C, was waiting outside of the front doors at 7:20 am. Upon boarding, the driver takes us to an Xcaret transit station to board a separate bus for Xplor. The total time on buses was 1:10 minutes. Once on the freeway, the Xcaret representative tries a few sales pitches for about 25 minutes..... waterproof phone cases, photo packages, annual passes, etc. Most people slept the entire ride and avoided the sales pitch, altogether.

Once at the park, the high level of efficiency was extremely evident! We were given wristbands on the bus and skipped the ticket lines completely. Employees were waiting for our arrival with hard hats, and locker keys. The total time before we were released into the park was less than 5 minutes!

This is a unique theme park with only 5 activites that are all WELL WORTH THE COST. Xplor is a park that is set in an underground cave network and above the treetops. The temperature was never a problem as the cave activities where in the cool shade and the treetop activites had a strong ever-present breeze.

Our 1st activites was the paddle rafts. Couples sit in a make-shift wooden raft and paddle with hand paddle throughout a 3km underground cave river. It is joked about as the number one reason tourists get divorced in Cancun. We heard numerous couple shouting at each other over the correct way to paddle.....just before they crashed into a low-hanging stalactites. Lol

From here we went to our favorite activity: the River Swim. Here you don life vests and swim through the cool underground cave river system for a 30 minute 2 mile path by following the blue lit water. Exotic birds and bats fly overhead. This is quite a romantic swim with no supervision and plenty of hidden turns where anything can (and definitely did) happen! "Cave sex is hot.....with all the echoes!" (quote from Parks and Rec) lol

Activity 3 was a 6km ATV drive! You are given the keys and set off in your very own atv the race along a path over bridges, through caves, and down steep cliff faces. There is only one rule. Drive as fast as you want, but if you wreck it....you pay to fix it.

Activity 4 was a hammock zipline. This was very mild and meant for the faint of heart. This is a very short zipline, in a hammock, that lands in the water. Mainly for kids, we think.

Activity 5 is the Soup De Jour of this park. You take a 45 minute tour of this expansive park through the air on 6 ziplines reaching top speeds of 32km/h. They are high and they are fast!!! You travel from tower to tower before splashing down into the cave river over 45 minutes later. This was exhilarating and exhausting but a great ending to a perfect day!

Food: There is an onsite restaurant named Troglodita that was superb. This is all-inclusive, all you can eat, and as many times as you can stop by. The food ranges from make your own tacos to made to order burgers, to sirloin steak. We burned a lot of calories at this park but put them all back on, at this restaurant that is a can't miss!

I STRONGLY recommend visiting Xplor on your trip to Temptation . Maybe we will see you in the quite corners of the River Swim! ;)

Tickets $90 each, bought in advance.
Total spent once inside the park: $0
We love XPLOR but would recommend doing it at night XPLOR FUEGO as it is amazing and provides a different perspective.

Just a note on boobs cruise....I understand the excursions can be a long day but the boobs cruise is not bad at all. It is also a party i think would fit into what you want to see in PARTY. Have to go at least once.

As much as I agree that the Boobs Cruise is a must I want to meet Tiffany and Mike when we arrive tomorrow... If you choose to do the BC it's usually from 11AM to 4PM so usually a 5 hour cruise to the Island for lunch and games the back to the resort. Adult orientated games on the boat and island and all you can drink. Your cup will never be empty, never. Besides the games your imagination can make the cruise whatever you want it to be, we are all adults right.

We've lost track of the times we have gone on Steve's Boobs Cruise as everytime we go we can honestly say we did the first Jan 2006 and we just did the last whenever we step off the boat..

Day 6: Swinging Ramps Up

This was the first day, since arriving, that we dis not leave the resort for any reason. SOOOO RELAXING!
So far we have had the fortune of playing with single females, a group of men, and one Russian couple, but in each case, we have had to do the searching. Today a Greman woman (part of a couple) in her late 20s came to me and said that she wanted Mike but not me. VERY DIRECTLY! (gotta love those Europeans) Lol. She said she wanted me to watch, only. Lol

This is a great treat and something I rarely get to do. It was fucking hot, for sure. BUT what about me? It's my turn, now, right? So.... if you're a lady at temptaion, now..... come find me. I need my one-on-one girl time! Any takers?

They go to a different restaurant on the island now that seems to be run by Albertros. The whole area is family orientated , so no games, just the wild time on the boat, cover up at lunch.....

Day 6: Friends

We complained, early on, about couples coming to TTR hoping to be something they are not and wanting us or others to push their spouses into the LS. Again, not for us, at all.

So it's only fair that we call out some really amazing people that make TTR worth our visit.

Indycouple8485 is the real deal!!! So great. These are our kinda people. If you are here and get to meet them, you should! These people know how to have fun! Glad to have them as new friends.

Day 6: ROOM SERVICE

Today we decided to try room service that is complimentary during your stay. Sometimes, you just need a break. This place can be intense and eventually the exhaustion catches up with you!

Room service is 24 hour per day and ordered through an interactive option on your television. The menu is complete with pictures and brief description of each item.

One thing that is a bit confusing is that the menu items are listed by timeframe. For example: dinner options are listed as 18:00 - 23:00 and "After Hours" options 23:00 - 6:00, etc. We initially took this to mean that these are the times you can order from these individual menus. HOWEVER, those divisions are only there to make suggestions of commonly ordered items during those times. Feel free to order from any menu at any time. We ordered a few burgers from the dinner menu and a hot wing appetizers from the "after hours" menu. Beverages are a bit limited due to you having your own mini bar in your hotel room.

We found that the food was well prepared and of much higher quality than the onsite buffet, Rain.
Food was delivered in approximately 20 minutes and made for a very nice time for just the two of us, eating out on our balcony.

We are both in our 30s and slightly on the younger side of the groups we see, visiting during this week. Despite this, we reached a point where we needed to recover. Do not hesitate to take some time for yourselves. The party never stops and will be there waiting for you, when you're refreshed. Room service is proof that TTR has listened to their guests needs and still are able to provide a top level experience in the privacy of your own room.;)

Agree 1000% on room service... Other than dining or wanting to be out and about, we found it a go to.... And breakfast and coffee, order at night and just give them a time! Agree on the food quality too. It took a bit to get a handle on the tv ordering, and accidentally ordered the buffalo chicken chunks, best mistake I made there. Ordered late night a few more times

Day 7: The June Junkies Have Arrived!

Today we saw that about 1/3 of the June Junkies had arrived and claimed their site in the sexy pool! What great people!!!!! We had the pleasure of meeting some neighbors of ours, TexasCouple. I can not say enough about these two! They are so warm, inviting, and share a very healthy view of the LS. They accept people of all types and make them feel like they are part of their group! Love these two!!!!!

This goes for all the June Junkies. If you are ever looking for a week, during the summer, to visit TTR ; this is the week. They make you feel right at home and for the first time, in our 7 day stay, the big hot tub was getting a workout. You can find them there or on the northwest side of the sexy pool. Go up and say hi; you'll be glad you did!

Day 8: What Swinging Hopefuls Need to Know!

First, let me say that we have loved our stay at TTR and will be returning!!! This is a great place and we strongly recommend that EVERYONE give it a try.

Now on to one person's assessment.

TTR is, for the most part, a launching off point for future swingers. I will go into detail to explain this, a bit later.

If you are planning to dabble in the LS, please take these tips as sound advice from a women who has seen it all and then some:

Terminology: Most active swingers do not like the word swinging, we prefer " Lifestyle". Swinging is now more synonymous with those who participate on vacation (vacation swingers) or special occasions like birthdays or anniversaries. Lifestyle is more about acceptance of all people. Losing the need to judge others for their choices but instead to accept the privilege of sharing love, life, or intimacy with other people to enhance an ALREADY ESTABLISHED RELATIONSHIP. Beware that some try to become swingers to save a struggling relationship, but this rarely works.

Single guys: Yes TTR is a resort that caters to LS couples and there are quite a few of us here, at anytime. THIS DOES NOT GIVE YOU PERMISSION TO SEXUALLY ASSAULT OR HARASS ANYONE! Do not go up to a topless woman and begin groping her. Do not lick a women's breast without asking. Yes, all of these have happened to so many of us, over the years. My husband, Mike will gladly grant permission to anyone (who I approve first) if they are courteous enough to ask. Women should be respected equally whether they are LS or not. Do not invite yourselves in to a relationship. No couple wants a man to come up and say "I am free to fuck your wife when you're available". We may think it's a great idea, but we want you to respect our relationship and the right to choose who we invite to be a part of it, with us. Be nice, talk to us, and most of all be willing to take "No" for an answer. It's not personal, it's just preferences and guidelines that each communicating LS couple has set for themselves.

The Photo Fakers: AS AN ASPIRING LS COUPLE, DO NOT SHARE PHOTOS THAT ARE NOT OF YOU OR ARE 10 YEARS AND 50LBS AGO! Look, the great thing about LS couples is our acceptance and love for so many people, but that does not mean we do not have our preferences. Just like you, our tastes change over time and we build our expectations based on what we see and learn from you. There is nothing worse than being in an awkward situation where planning has started and then when you meet, the other couple has deceived you. Honestly, most of us would have still considered you, but the dishonesty makes us question many other aspects of this potential encounter. Remember, safety and security are most important. No one will feel safe and secure with someone that they cannot trust!

The Big-Talking Couple: This one upsets us more than any other one!!! Grrrrrr!!!!!! We are very often approached by couples that go out of there way to show great interest and even go so far as to say "let's get together", but then intimidation sets in and they get "cold feet". The other couple will wait until they know you are at the pool (because that's where they just spoke to you) when they know you have no phone handy, and send you a message saying that they want to meet you somewhere in he next few minutes or they send you a message (at 4 am) saying that they want to get together (long after you're asleep). They then will not show up at common places like bash claiming the fell asleep or they will sneak out once you step away and claim someone wasn't feeling well, etc.... Ok, these things do happen but they are most commonly diagnosed as "hiding while they find the courage that they already claimed to have". In LS, we are the most understanding and patient people in the world! Absolutely no one should or would push you into a scenario that you are not ready for. In fact, we have often told couples that we think it is best to wait until they both feel ready, before we discuss further plans. No person wants to play in fear or discomfort and no one should act ready for something they are not ready for. Again, we are all understanding people but all at different levels. No couple, no matter how much you like them is worth compromising your level of readiness to see. If they are as great as you are claiming then they will still be there once it's right for everyone.

The Rule Changers: Once you have laid out your rules and parameters with another couple, do not attempt to change them mid session. It is far too common that once aroused, one party tries to get or do a little more than they previously agreed upon. Here is an elementry example: If two couples agree that the girls will play and the guys will watch then that is exactly what should happen! Sometimes the guy will decide that he wants to jump in. This should never be a consideration. The respect of all parties involved should be the most important of all rules. Just because you are comfortable changing the rules does not mean everyone else is, as well. Asking mid-session puts undue pressure on the other parties. If you respect the rules and respect your partners, you'll likely get a second chance to try new things, together.

At TTR you have seasoned pros that return for the party, the nostalgia, and the history, but most of your guests are looking to try LS for the first time. Please keep the above suggestions in mind as you take your first steps. For those of you who are coming to TTR after years of LS living, be prepared to exercise patience and know that you will encounter those big-talking couples. Most of all keep in mind it is you they are watching and wanting to become. You will be not only a guest but a teacher. Let's be sure to leave a lasting impression that will shape our resort for the foreseeable future.

Day 9: Regrets

As any vacation comes to an end you start to regret the things you didnt get to see and leaving the people you only just met. Just like anyone else we have a few regrets, so I'll list a few of ours so you can try to avoid them.

Try every restaurant:

We visited all but one, Sutra. The food at TTR is average-to-good with a few highlights here and there. We missed our first reservation at Sutra and failed to make a second. We hear wonderful things about this restaurant and are saddened that we did not make a stronger commitment to honoring our reservation.

Drinking too much:

We are usually very responsible drinkers but there is something about this place!!!!! I had one black out night and hear I did some pretty embarrassing things, albeit popular amongst the crowd. So glad Mike was with me. Always be prepared and have someone to watch out for you. It can hit you before you know it. The heat an excitement can make you feel more sober than you actually are.....then..... it's too late and you'll end up on Youtube. Lol

Seeing Cancun:

We went into the city via public transportation on 2 occations but hear that many couples never venture out the front doors of TTR . These are some of our best memories. You receive a lot of attention at TTR , from other guests, and it's nice to have those few moments away, with the one you brought. Never forget that "Together, you have everything but apart, you'll have nothing". When this exciting trip is over, you'll have that one special someone to share the memories with, forever. Make sure to make a few memories that are just for you two, as well.

Sky Lounge 3.5:

We did not visit SL3.5 until the final day. It is such a beautiful deck with breathtaking views and an extremely attentive staff. It is not where the party is, by any means, but it is a nice break to where you go slowly and feel the luxury that TTR has to offer.

The one's that got away:

We had a great deal of intimate fun with some great people that we will never forget. Some may become life long friends. That said, there is always a few that got too nervous or convinced themselves that we would not be in to them. This is sad but it does happen. We spent the final 3 days with a wonderful couple that couldn't work up the nerve to close the deal, despite messages saying "Come find me, and I want you, etc....and failed attempts to meet in the evening. We are always patient and never push, but I so wish you had left your apprehensions behind. What a mistake for us not to see this through. We all would have had a wonderful time and built an unbelievable memory. Two girls like us so rarely find each other. I would never call out anyone, but you know who you are "Girl with the Green Bay Packers travel mug"!
We are both living comfortably and should see about meeting somewhere, whenever you are ready! ;)

We had a wonderful time at TTR and will take a few regrets for the countless memories!

Terminology: Most active swingers do not like the word swinging, we prefer " Lifestyle".
Actually, I don't like either label. "Swinger" sounds very 1970 and is generally just thought of as wife-swapping. "Lifestyle" is so ambiguous. I like it even less. After all, who isn't in some sort of lifestyle!?

I like labels that accurately describe a situation so that when you hear it, there's no question as to what it means. That's why I prefer the label "Polyfuckery."

"Why yes, we ARE into polyfuckery. Sam and I are polyfuckers.":p

Day 10: Heading Home

Checkout is at 11am, but our shuttle did not leave until 1:30. PLEASE NOTE: The front desk will remove your bracelet at 11am which will prevent you from eating or drinking from that point onward. In anticipation of this, we had an early breakfast at Sea Flirt (amazing breakfast, btw) and loaded up on portable snacks from Caffeine. We walked around the hotel zone and return to hang out in the lobby and say goodbye to friends we made as the passed by. We meet so many wonderful people from the site. I can't remember them all but to name a few:

TexasCouple
E&R1
ILikefun
NerdyMcHotties
Caldreemin
SC1521
Scottydog
Roger&Annie
knowwhatimean
J&M17
Indycouple8485
nawty2
tw1mempho
typeoxpress
Just4fun45
Pjcuff
K&Ayyyy
FirstTymers
Bamacouple
Floridacouple13

You are all such wonderful people. We hope to see you all on our next trip to TTR !

CORRECTION: AS tw1mempho MENTIONED BELOW, YOU CAN STILL EAT AND DRINK WITH YOUR CHECKOUT SLIP, BUT THEY MAY NOT INFORM YOU OF THIS, AT CHECKOUT. THEY DID NOT MENTION IT TO US. THANKS FOR THE VERY HELPFUL TIP!

(One quick correction) for those checking out. U will still be able to eat and drink until U leave. The front deck will give U a paper receipt when cutting off your wrist band, and if asked just show it at the bar and restaurants ... we were never asked.
When U finally leave and after loading up your luggage , that is when U turn over the paper receipt for your final act in saying good bye to TTR ...

Thanks for the correction. Wish we had know this! Lol. Caffeine was fine but we would have preferred lunch elsewhere. ;) I hope you have recovered well, tw1mempho! You are bringing home more than just memories.....injuries!

One more scar to add to my legend of life (LOL) . Really loved ya'll and thanks for being so nice to us and everyone else. Hope ya'll decide on the boob cruise on your next trip. If so, go early in your trip. They now offer it on Mondays and Fridays.
Love your blog and thanks for all of your effort to post your daily trip reports.
