I read of lot of posts on CancunCare about people getting sick at Temptation (and other resorts in Cancun). Is or has Desire RM experienced the same problems recently or does the problem appear to be only in Cancun?
Your responses are appreciated as we will be at both next month.
Thanks

Never heard of anyone getting sick at Desire RM nor Pearl. Think it would be financial suicide if a resort like Desire had sanitation issues. Where as some of the cheaper resorts, well there ya go. Cheaper resorts. Just the usual things to stay away from, tap water, salads, cut fruit etc. An ounce of prevention...But no have never heard of anyone even remotely getting ill.

Its not common, but it can happen (especially outside the resort). Before our first trip some friends we were traveling with told us to bring "activated charcoal" just incase. We've never had to use it, so we're not sure if it really helps, but we bring it anyway.

Never had an issue at RM, and I have ice in my drinks, eat salad, have frozen drinks etc. I drink bottles water but brush my teeth with tap water. Good times!

People get sick at ALL resorts, and we have heard & known a few folks who got sick at Desire . It's NOT common though!!! It would be "financial suicide" for any resort to have sanitation issues, and to say it's more likely at cheaper resorts is BS. We've stayed at cheaper, and more expensive, AI's on the Riviera Maya, and none of them have left us feeling we could have health issues. Waves of sickness hit up and down the coast periodically, and can't be prevented. The thousands upon thousands of people jammed into aircraft daily, who then spend their week or so amongst the crowds of people in their chosen resort, only have to be exposed to one fellow guest who is sick, and then it spreads like wildfire......then throw in all that time spent in the hot sun over-imbibing....

Oh, and in ten Desire trips, we drink the water, eat the salads and fruits, and personally neither of us has fallen ill.
