Which Desire?

This will be our first time at Desire when we book sometime within the next year. Our question is which Desire ? Do we go to Cabo, as we have never been to Cabo? Perhaps Pearl as it might be a quieter atmosphere for us. Or do we opt for the main resort in Cancun? Which one do you like and why?

Too many choices - lol

It really depends on what you are looking for (and of course the other people that will be at wherever Desire Resort you choose for that week)
- if you want the "original" experience of what Desire is about then I would have to say do Desire Riviera Maya
- if you are budget constrained or are a west coaster try Desire Los Cabos since the pricing there is just a bit above Temptation Cancun rates.
- if you are looking to be pampered, a somewhat quieter experience and can afford it try Desire Pearl

Basically a week at any Desire Resort is better than not being there

Desire Pearl is larger and much nicer. More rooms = more peeps

Pearl is nicer, but more rooms doesn't mean more people. Traditionally RM has a higher occupancy and it feels like it has a better vibe due to everyone being close by. Also, people tend to congregate in the same area so easier to meet people. It depends on what type of vacation you want.

FYI - Pearl is actually smaller that Desire RM.

So if you are looking for where the most people will be on any given week consider the following
- Desire RM has 114 rooms - Pearl only has 88 rooms
- Desire RM average occupancy for the last year was 75%+
- Pearl average occupancy for the last year was only about 45%

Personally we prefer the beach at Desire RM, more beach bed, anyone can use them and no rocks as you walk out into the ocean.

Pearls beach is pretty good as well, lots of shade under the palm trees, but very few beach beds(lots of loungers however) and some rocks just as you enter the water (they are currently working to clear a lot of them so that may not be an issue in a month). Pearl also has a large pier that guests can use.

The Cabo is no longer open. We have only been to that location. Really like it, hate to see it go.

Neither - Desire is not a day time party place like Temptation . The days are for relaxing, not a lot of folks will be in the pool - they will be sunning and relaxing with low participation in the entertainment activities. It is a much more mature crowd, the party gets going around 4pm in the Hot Tub & the nightly entertainment has a great turn out.

Music is not loud pool side, Entertainment staff are not loud or obnoxious either.
